Meet the
family.
Six little monsters. One very lively home. And plenty of different ways to wobble.
At the heart of many of our stories is Ollie — six years old, very sure he is a big boy, and still discovering that big feelings happen to everyone.
Everyone wobbles differently.
The family don't all see the world in the same way. That's rather useful, because when one of them gets a wobble, there's usually someone else nearby who understands.
Riley
Kind. Sensitive. Football mad.
Riley is Ollie’s older brother — a couple of years older, and very much part of the same wobbly family.
He is kind-hearted and sensitive, and he loves football: playing it, watching it, talking about it, and finding room for one more kickabout.
Riley has big feelings too. Like every Collywobble, he gets to be himself without needing to fit anyone else’s idea of brave.
Ollie
Six years old. Brave. Kind. Definitely not worried.
Ollie has decided he's a big boy now. Big boys know what to do. Big boys look after their little sisters. And big boys don't get scared.
Unfortunately, Ollie hasn't quite worked out that you can be brave and still be scared.
He's excellent at giving everyone else advice. He's less brilliant at taking his own.
And when things get a little too big, Ollie has his very best trick: the Brave Face.
Get to know OllieBella
Small. Cheerful. Surprisingly observant.
Bella is Ollie's little sister, and she thinks Ollie is very clever.
She believes almost everything he tells her. Which would be lovely if Bella didn't have such an excellent memory.
When Ollie tells her, “There's nothing to worry about,” Bella remembers.
When Ollie says, “Just have a go,” Bella remembers that too.
So when Ollie gets a wobble of his own, Bella is usually the first one to notice.
And sometimes the first one to give his own advice straight back to him.
Poppy
Little paws. Big curiosity.
Poppy is the youngest Collywobble. She doesn't have very many words yet, but she has plenty of opinions.
Poppy explores the world by touching it, tasting it, climbing it and occasionally dropping it.
She has absolutely no interest in Ollie's carefully prepared plans.
Which is probably good for him.
Poppy reminds everyone that sometimes you don't need the right words. Sometimes you just need someone close by.
Rosie
Warm. Patient. Almost impossible to fool.
Rosie has seen just about every kind of wobble.
She doesn't rush to make them disappear. She doesn't always have an answer. And she certainly doesn't tell the children that there's nothing to worry about when there obviously is.
Rosie knows that sometimes the best thing you can say is: “I'm here.”
She is particularly good at spotting when Ollie's Brave Face has arrived.
Gus
Helpful. Hopeful. Very fond of fixing things.
Gus likes a problem he can solve.
Broken toy? Gus can fix it.
Squeaky door? Gus can fix it.
Wobbly feelings?
Hmm.
Gus is slowly discovering that not every problem needs fixing.
Sometimes someone just needs a cuddle.
Muddle
Gentle. Curious. A little bit muddled.
Muddle runs The Wobble Shop, a tiny general store somewhere in Collyvale where the shelves are full of useful things, peculiar things and a few things nobody quite knows what to do with.
Muddle can rarely find the right drawer on the first try. There are lists everywhere, a pencil behind one ear and usually at least one thing that has been put somewhere very sensible and immediately forgotten.
But while Muddle is looking, Muddle listens. No lectures. No fixing. Just plenty of time, a warm welcome and the occasional biscuit.
“Nothing wrong with a little muddle.”
Visit the world of Collyvale ↗Six monsters. One very important thing.
Nobody in the Collywobble family gets everything right. That's rather the point.
Big brother. Big boy.
Riley is older. Ollie is extremely aware that he is also a big boy. That gives the brothers plenty of room for kindness, competition, laughter and the occasional wobble.
Advice goes both ways.
Ollie thinks he's the one teaching Bella how to be brave. Bella isn't so sure about that.
Two different kinds of help.
Rosie knows when to listen. Gus knows when to reach for the toolbox. Between them, most things eventually work out.
Sometimes the smallest one changes everything.
Poppy doesn't worry about being brave. She simply gets on with discovering the world.
There is always room for one more wobble.
The Collywobbles are learning that feelings don't have to be fixed, hidden or hurried away.
Sometimes you wobble. Sometimes you help someone else wobble. And sometimes you discover that the thing you were worried about wasn't quite as scary as you thought.
